Forum Closing

I have decided to close this forum. I initially set it up as a place
for store owners to come and talk about the CafePress changes.

I thought a problem shared is a problem halved and I think for this
purpose this forum did its job. But now I think people are settling
into their new shops and this place is not longer needed.

I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this forum.
It took me by surprise how many people joined
(although some joined and never came back *LOL* but that's just forums.

So THANK YOU and I wish you all the best of luck in the future

Creative Minds will close on Sunday Night

I have had a spreadshirt for a while but thought I would log back in following the recent carry on with CafePress.

I have uploaded some graphics (like I do with CP and Zaz) but it keeps telling me that I can only use 'photos' on white shirts... How do I get it to realise that my PNG files are not photos....

God I thought Zazzle was hard..... Rolling Eyes

Yep that's part of the downside with Spreadshirt. PNG's are direct to garment printing, and at present only available on light colours there. No printing on dark yet, they are very new to DTG printing, but are gradually adding products little by little.

That's the very reason I only created a very small store as a test, because our designs are so limited as to which products we can use them on. It's only vector graphics that can go on all products because they can be produced from flock & flex print materials (which is what Spreadshirt were originally all about).

But in some respects its like Zazzle in that you can put some designs on there and the customers can customise and put them on the product of their choice, you don't need to create tons of products to get sales, just a few samples if you want (just as well really cos there are NO bulk add tools!!! affraid )

Or the way I intend to use Spreadshirt in the future is just to put some designs in their marketplace without creating any products at all (if you do that don't forget to put a design commission amount that is your markup which you will get if somebody uses it to create a t-shirt)

That in itself is quite worthwhile. I put in a design and marked it up @ £3.99, someone came along and used it 4 times to create a product(s) =£16 to me, and I hadn't even put it on a single t-shirt. Very Happy
